Giorgio de Chirico was born in Greece in 1888. Both of his parents were Italian. His father was a railroad engineer who died when Giorgio was 17. In 1906, Giorgio's mother decided to take her two sons to study in Munich, Germany. Giorgio began to paint and became an art student at the Munich Academy. His brother Alberto Sarinio became a writer.
