If you believe that women develop heart disease less often than men, think again. Contrary to popular myth, heart disease isn't just a man's disease. It is the number-one killer of women in the United States. Unfortunately, many women do not recognize the early signs of a heart attack, often dismissing serious signals as symptoms of indigestion or fatigue. While a man may experience chest discomfort during stress or exertion, a woman may have chest discomfort that comes and goes, or shortness of breath with stress or exertion.
