Spain's Juan Carlos visits Moscow.

MOSCOW, Aug 18, 2002

Russian President Vladimir Putin welcomed Spain's King Juan Carlos I to the Kremlin Sunday, marking the beginning of the monarch's two-day private visit to the Russian capital, the official RIA Novosti news agency reported.

Juan Carlos arrived Saturday evening and was escorted by Russia's First Deputy Prime Minister Valery Loschinin to Putin's suburban residence at Novo Ogaryovo. On Sunday, Putin and Juan Carlos met in the Grand Kremlin Palace.
