The Energy Information Administration (EIA) has released a paper that introduces a new measure of projected energy efficiency for the United States, the aggregate composite efficiency index (ACEI). The index was derived by mathematically combining individual energy efficiency projections in some 2,500 subsectors taken from the National Energy Modeling System (NEMS).
