Compromise bill keeps funding alive for B-2

After weeks of wrangling, the U.S. House of Representatives last week came up with a compromise defense-spending bill that keeps alive production of the controversial B-2 "Stealth" bomber.

Under the measure, which is part of the budget package expected to be adopted, the bomber program would get $4.1 billion in the current fiscal year that began Oct. 1.
