Hurricane Forecast Lowered
This season's hurricane expectations have been lowered again.
Noted hurricane forecast guru, William Gray of Colorado State University, is now calling for a total of nine named storms, four hurricanes, and only one "major" hurricane for the 2002 Atlantic Basin hurricane season -- this with three named storms already played out.
The new forecast is down from the prior forecast (issued May 31), which called for 11 named storms, six hurricanes, and two "major" hurricanes. Gray's forecast of hurricane season intensity has ...
