While Canobie Lake Park has flourished, other amusement parks have gone the way of the dinosaur. From Pleasure Island in Wakefield to Paragon Park on Nantasket Beach in Hull, a combination of conundrums have shuttered these vestiges of simpler times.
Paragon Park "didn't necessarily fail," said Wayne Ulaky, Canobie Lake Park's vice president. "The descendents of the owners just weren't interested in going into the business."
