SHE may be getting on a bit, but Mary Keane celebrating her 100th birthday like an 18-year-old - recreating a trip she made to New York's Ellis Island as a teenager.

Back in 1921, Mary, born in Charlestown, Co Mayo, spent 10 days on the SS Cedric traveling from Ireland to the USA. She lined up at the daunting immigration halls of Ellis Island along with hundreds of other Irish adventurers.
