Holding onto tradition is a challenge for any family, but it appears especially difficult for Hmong who have been raised to practice animism.
Animal sacrifices and incantations to exorcise evil are just a couple examples of animism rituals. It is a belief system in ancestral worship, supernatural power and interconnectedness among living things.
