Jenny Craig adds 100 outlets; no acquisition yet

Revising its earlier plan to acquire another company, Jenny Craig International has used the $100 million in venture capital it received last July to add almost 100 stores nationwide.

Jenny Craig, the Solana Beach-based weight-loss giant, planned to add another 150 stores and delve into a new venture. While the plan to add to the store count has continued on track, the company still has not announced which company it sees as an acquisition target, said Jim Mallen, Jenny Craig's chief financial officer.
