TIGER WOODS may not begin his assault on the third leg of an unprecedented Grand Slam until Thursday but for 384 golfers the Open Championship starts tomorrow at final qualifying.

The large field will compete at four courses near the Open's Muirfield venue for less than 50 places in the draw for the championship proper next week.
