While the Halloweens of yester year summoned images of witches, warlocks and evil apparitions, today the holiday brings visions of Ninja Turtles, Batman, Barbie and hefty profits.
Halloween 1989 was a treat for retailers and manufacturers alike. According to industry observers, 1989 sales of Halloween products (excluding candy) exceeded last year's total of about $400 million by over ten percent.
