OSWIECIM, POLAND-Although synthetic rubber products bring some of the biggest profits at Oswiecim, the plant's director, Jan Babiarz, is concentrating modernisation efforts on a styrene-based thermoplastics production line, because he is close to signing a joint-venture deal in that area.
As in other Polish factories, scarce local resources are concentrated on improving existing facilities, wherever there is the possibility of attracting external investment.
