LIVE cattle exports from Australia during April were strong, writes DAVID McCOY.

For the month, live cattle exports total just under 61,000 head, up 27 per cent on March levels and 31 per cent on corresponding April 2001 levels, as increased shipments to South Asian markets more than offset a decline in exports to Egypt, according to the latest statistics from Meat and Livestock Australia.
