VIETNAM PLANS TO TRANSFORM DA LAT MOUNTAIN CITY INTO TOURISM HUB.

HANOI, June 5 Asia Pulse - Government officials have approved plans to give the Tay Nguyen (central highlands) city of Da Lat a makeover, in hopes of drawing hordes of tourists to the region.

Under the new scheme, towns surrounding the city, such as Dran, Thanh My, Lien Nghia, Phi Nom, Nam Ban and Dinh Van, will be upgraded into new urban centres, enlarging the span of the city.

Officials hope to transform the highland city into a tourism centre at the international level, especially for sightseeing and ecological tourism.
