Former Vice-President Diosdado Cabello was sworn in today as provisional president of the republic by William Lara, representative of the National Assembly. Meanwhile, acting President Pedro Carmona tendered his resignation and said that he is at Fort Tiuna waiting for Gen Lucas Rincon so that he will ensure his personal safety.
