The name had stood out from the ever-growing jumble of beer brands and styles: Old Rasputin Imperial Russian Stout.

What the heck is this? And why so much _ $6.89 _ for a four-pack, yep, just four bottles with the blackest brew this side of Dublin's River Liffey?

This is truly a stunning beer with a rich, inviting aroma and a bundle of complex flavors _ a toasty, roasted kind of chocolate _ under a nice caramel-colored head.
