Any time I tried to nail down the number of residents in the Restaurant Capital of the World, people laughed.
I'd say, "So the population of Dorset is 22, right?" They'd chuckle, then come back with something like, "Well, I suppose. Depending on who's around."
Amber Parks, clerk at the Dorset General Store, told me that Dorset didn't technically exist. "Dorset's not really a town," she said.
It sure looked like a town when I arrived at its alleged site one Saturday afternoon ...
