DU BELLAY'S HOMESICKNESS 
 
   Most fortunate the man who, chastened 
   by the foreign, sails back to his harbor 
   and spies past mast and spire and neighbor's 
   chimney smoke, his own home, and like Jason 
   or Ulysses, returns to stay. What season 
   will set me in my yard to wander the arbor 
   of that house whose green port and starboard 
   are all the ocean I need gaze on? 
 
   Richer the simple house of wattled walls 
   and ungabled roof where my father had lain
