BANGLADESH: A Catholic church in northern Bangladesh has been reopened 50 years after it was abandoned and later occupied by squatters.
Holy Cross Bishop Moses Costa of Dinajpur and Archbishop Edward Joseph Adams, apostolic nuncio to Bangladesh, blessed the church in Lalmonirhat, Dinajpur diocese April 7.
Twelve priests and about 200 Christians attended the blessing and Mass. The church now serves about 100 Catholics in Lalmonirhat.
