Supply chain execution applications eventually work--but they're more complicated than end users have been led to believe by vendors. And that is creating a gap between expectations and fact, says AMR Research Inc., Boston.
Companies aren't likely to receive top-tier benefits from their supply chain applications until about two years after implementation, says AMR's recently released study, "Supply Chain Software Yields ROI--But it Takes Time," even though software companies are promising a return on investment in less than six months.
