Alps Electric Company Ltd has developed the KT Series resistor thin-film tablet (transparent touch panel) for cellular telephones and personal digital assistants. The company plans to start sampling the product in late May 2002.
The series uses a resistor film that reads changes of electric resistance values by transparent resistant substances formed on the inward side of the panel's glass and film.
