ST. PAUL, Minn. _ When TV's Dr. Marcus Welby first became a household name in the late 1960s, family doctors still made house calls.

Today _ with Dr. Mark Greene hanging up his well-worn scrubs on TV's "ER" _ a growing number of family doctors are choosing not to make hospital rounds.
