Services were held for pioneering actress Rosetta LeNoire at St. Francis of Rome Church in the Bronx.

LeNoire died after a lengthy illness at Holy Name Hospital in Teaneck, NJ. She was 90.

She made history in 1936, at the age of 25, when she played the First Witch in the landmark, all-Black version of Macbeth, directed by Orson Welles, in New York. Three years later she made her Broadway debut in The Hot Mikado, an all-Black version of the opera.
