Abstract: Still in its infancy in the United States, media literacy has started to find its way into curriculum frameworks and to win the endorsement of prestigious individuals and institutions. The author explores interdisciplinary approaches to media literacy, including teacher-training initiatives, in terms of its roots in Australia, the United Kingdom, and Canada.
