ROLAND NILSSON should have been given the chance to build his own squad for next season. He has had to make do with Gordon Strachan's leftovers whose chances of promotion were effectively over by October.

Nilsson made promotion a near possibility but was hampered by a defence who with the exception of the exemplary Mo Konjic are all out of contract this summer.

Perhaps it is Mr McGinnity who should go. We need a chairman who understands...
