A question of responsibility
Editor:
My first reaction to Robert Hinkley's article in the Feb. 18 edition of the San Diego Business Journal ("How Corporate Law Inhibits Social Responsibility") was one of intrigue: could a legal entity such as a corporation be made to function like a social entity similar to a person?
But the question itself gives the answer - no. Not because it wouldn't be potentially of value, but because a corporation isn't a social entity and, realistically, cannot be. This idea is nothing but a fairy tale.
