Julian Opie was born in London in 1958 and studied art at Goldsmith's College before the Hirst era, first making his mark in a group show alongside Keith Haring, Jenny Holzer and Anish Kapoor in 1982. Most people would be familiar with his work via the cover of Blur's Greatest Hits album
