John Thomas Lenox, a producer-director who made a string of successful television series, has died.

Lenox, who was nominated for an Emmy because of his work as executive producer of the NBC miniseries ``Long Hot Summer,'' succumbed to an apparent heart attack Tuesday at his Van Nuys home, associates said Wednesday. It was his 50th birthday.
