WORCESTER - For all of the fast-break layups and thrill-a-minute plays produced by Springfield Cathedral in last night's Division 1 boys basketball state final, the dagger to the heart of Brookline came on a pair of confidently tossed 3-pointers out of the hands of Derek Yvon.

The Cathedral senior nailed the second of his two with 1:54 remaining to give his team a six-point edge and the Panthers proceeded to ice a 75-71 triumph over the Warriors at the Centrum.
