First, James Samuel proved he was a big-game player. Then the defense followed suit.

The result was Muir's shocking 15-14 victory over defending Pacific League champion Crescenta Valley Friday at Muir.

Samuel capped an 80-yard, 14-play drive with a 5-yard touchdown run, his second of the game, with 2 minutes, 32 seconds remaining. Then he ran in the two-point conversion for the final 15-14 margin.
