NUMBER OF STATE DAIRY HERDS FALLS TO 17,782.(BUSINESS)

The number of dairy herds in Wisconsin continues to drop, with 17,782 remaining this month, according to the Wisconsin Agricultural Statistics Service.

That's a drop of 116 since Jan. 1, and a decline of 1,179 since March 2001.
