NEW DELHI, March 14 Asia Pulse - The federal government today said that there has been no surge in imports following the removal of quantitative restrictions on imports reserved for the small scale industry (SSI) in the country.

"The government is constantly monitoring the impact of dismantling of quantitative import controls on the economy, including the SSI. While the removal of quantitative restrictions (QRs) have exposed the SSI to greater competition, there has not been any surge in imports as a consequence of this step," Junior Minister for SSI Vasundhara Raje ...
