Brandi Prieto of Cal State Northridge was not thrilled to be competing in the heptathlon at the Big Sky Conference championships on Wednesday at CSUN.

Neither was the rest of the heptathlon field.

Prieto, a five-time Big Sky Conference triple-jump champion, posted personal bests in three of the four events to finish as the first-day leader with 3,088 points in the two-day, seven-event competition. LaShaunda Fowler of Northridge is second with 2,920 and Hillary Merkley of Idaho State is third with 2,873.
