New Glove-Making Start-Up Gives Officials Hope in Wilkes County, N.C.

Mar. 7--NORTH WILKESBORO, N.C.--For the past 18 months most of the economic news coming out of Wilkes County has been negative -- about 1,250 jobs lost to layoffs or plant closings.
However, the recent formation of Wilkes Glove, LLC., a local start-up that will both make and import work gloves for resale worldwide, has given government and economic-development officials some hope that maybe economic conditions are improving.
