In the United States, the true dampwood termites of the family Hodotermitidae are represented principally by two species: the Pacific dampwood termite (Zootermopsis angusticollis) and the Nevada (also called the small) dampwood termite (Zootermopsis nevadensis). Both of these species are found in the western United States, primarily in the Pacific states.
