L-phenylalanine producers in the world are mainly concentrated in the United States, Japan, Korea and West Europe, almost use the enzyme process. NutraSweet of the United States ranks the first. Other leading producers include Rexim SA of France, Amino GmbH of Germany, DSM Special Products BV of Holland, Ajinomoto Co., Inc. of Netherlands, Kyowa Hakko Kogyo Co., Ltd. of Japan and Sewon Co., Ltd. of Korea.
