A federal grand jury charged that fresh oranges were not the only ingredient in "pure" orange juice produced from 1978 through 1984 by Bodine, Inc. - once the largest orange juice manufacturer in the Midwest. Last July, the grand jury returned a 19-count indictment against Edward M. Boden Sr., Edward M. Boden Jr., and Roger Walsh Jr., charging the former owners of the Chicago fruit juice company with using low-cost, inferior ingredients in a product falsely labeled as pure unsweetened frozen concentrated orange juice.
