Long-time Riverfront Times editor Safir Ahmed has been ousted from the paper, replaced in January by a newcomer to the St. Louis area, Jim Nesbitt.
The circumstances of Ahmed's departure are murky, though the official party line gives the impression that the decision was mutual.
"Former Riverfront Times editor Safir Ahmed is leaving the paper to pursue other professional interests," reads a New Times Inc. press release.
