IT'S AN IDEA that Ken Kesey himself might have loved: an entire community reading the same book at the same time, then getting together to hash it out.
That idea was introduced Monday to the Eugene-Springfield community, and the book is formidable: the late author's "Sometimes a Great Notion," a 628-page tome that has been called a landmark novel of the Northwest.
The project is ``Readin' in the Rain,'' an initiative that encourages the community to read "Notion" by April 1, when the first of two screenings ...
