Denver Mayor Wellington Webb Tuesday defended his upcoming trip to Africa, saying he has ``a different vision of the world'' than some of his detractors.

``This (trip) isn't new in our thinking,'' Webb said, explaining that an exploratory trade mission to Africa was the next logical step for Denver after ``locking up the European gateway cities of London and Frankfurt . . . and then going to Asia (last year).''
