LANCASTER - Lancaster School District trustees are questioning whether a proposed mentoring and tutoring program for girls ages 9 to 14 has religious undertones or could undermine parental authority.
The voluntary after-school counseling program would be run by the Spirit Awakening Foundation through the Los Angeles County Probation Department at Joshua School and Piute Middle School.
