France has been criticised by the European Commission for uneven transposition of a Directive on public information and health measures in the event of a radiological emergency. In the wake of questions raised by two MEPs (3124/01 and 3145/01) about the transposition of Directive 89/618/Euratom of December 7,1989, Margot Wallstrom acknowledged that the Commission took a dim view of the way France had implemented it.
