A report in The IHT says: "Yasser Arafat's virtual house arrest imposed by Israel [see Arabs-Israel] has left him increasingly isolated, garnering few expressions of support from Arab allies". The report quotes PA Ambassador to the Arab League Mohammad Sobieh as saying: "I think they [Arab leaders] should call him daily because he is an Arab leader, an Arab leader under Israeli attack every minute. Some leaders phone, but some don't, and we are waiting for more from the rest". ...
