Adaptation

Much has been written about hospital closings. There can be no doubt that more closings will come. We, however, will not dwell on this aspect of the future, but rather will address a few characteristics that will mark the successful healthcare provider in an era when only the financially fit organization will survive.

Among the necessary attributes will be a talented and adaptive financial manager.

Surviving organizations may not start out strongly. They may not be the largest hospitals in their markets or even facilities with the best locations.
