It's been a long time in the making, but on March 23 the doors will officially open to the Saw Diego County Women's Hall of Fame.

Five local women will be honored for their contributions to the citizens of San Diego during the March ceremony. According to organizers, the endeavor is long overdue and will make women's work in the community more visible.

The event is being spearheaded by the Golden Hill-based Women's History Reclamation Project, said to be San Diego's only museum of women's history, and the San Diego County Commission on the Status of Women. The UCSD ...
