Putrajaya City is set to become the new centre for Malaysia's governmental, judicial and diplomatic administrations, all located within a central `island' surrounded by a lake and linked to the outer city areas by a new monorail system.

Mott MacDonald has won a further design commission on the monorail system being developed. Following its phase-one role on two underground stations and 1.1 km of tunnel, the company is now leading detailed design for three more stations and 4.5km of tunnel which will complete the monorail's underground works.
