Faced with declining subscriptions despite a spiffy redesign, the magazine of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) will end publication early this year, denomination officials announced shortly before Christmas. The Disciple expected to finish 2001 with 19,000 paid circulation--after a steady drop from about 85,000 nearly 25 years ago.
