WITHOUT going to the dictionary, credibility is believability.

In connection with the job, it is whether people believe that you're doing the job right and/or that you can deliver what the job requires. Or more simply if you're doing your job.

Not any of us can deny that many institutions of government today like law-enforcers, have very low credibility to solve murders (Nida Blanca's for example), and all kinds of other crimes.
