BOY DIES, WOMAN HURT IN TOPANGA CRASH.(News)

A woman lost control of her car on rain-slick ``Deadman's Curve'' in Topanga Canyon on Friday and slammed into another vehicle, killing the child riding with her and leaving her in critical condition, officials said.
The boy, about 5, was pronounced dead at the scene, and the woman, estimated to be in her mid-20s, was airlifted to UCLA Medical Center, where she remained in critical condition Friday evening. The driver of the other vehicle suffered minor injuries. None of those involved was immediately identified.
